Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. Teku glass
Price: $2.34
From: From: Trader Joe’s in College Area (San Diego), Calif.

Grabbed a 6-pack of this on a recent trip to Trader Joe’s. I feel like I write this every time, but I generally think Pizza Port’s IPAs are a bit overrated. That being said, the most recent ones I’ve had during the pandemic have been pretty solid to me and I will keep buying them. Pizza Port’s website describes this as, “Today's Forecast is a light and dry IPA showcasing the depth of Mosaic hops. Aromas of fresh squeezed citrus fruits and pine fill the glass, while flavors of mango and other tropical fruits parade around your tastebuds. The use of Mosaic from the beginning of boil to the dry hop highlights the unique ability of this dual purpose hop.” Other hops mentioned are Cashmere, Azacca and El Dorado.

Poured a clear medium yellow color with 4-to-5 fingers of rocky white head. Just a few bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Bad watery lacing. Decent retention. (Sight - 3.50)

Smelled Mosaic, floral, rose blossom, perfume, passion fruit, mango, mixed berry, lemon-lime zest, dish soap, pine, citrusy notes, tangerine and hints of candied melon. A little earthier out of the can, but Mosaic was still leading the way. (Smell - 4.00)

Taste was not quite as good as the nose initially. For sure earthier than the smell. In order got woody pine, bitter citrus rind, Mosaic, floral, perfume, passion fruit, mango, mixed berry, tangerine, dish soap, lemon-lime zest, candied melon, earthy malt and lingering spice. (Taste - 3.75)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Bitter, spicy, dry finish. (Feel - 4.00)

In terms of a West Coast IPA, this was outstanding. Would have again for sure (and will as I got two others as well). (Overall - 4.00)

Poured from a can- clear medium gold with white head leaving a bit of frosty lacing. Nose is mild citrus and pine. Taste follows with more fruit and less pine. Finishes smooth and a bit on the dry side. Tasty.

Just your classic west coast ipa in appearance. Aroma is more of the modern, juicy style. On the sweeter side, with melon and a touch of berries. Easy drinker.

Had Today's Forecast in Humboldt straight from pint can split with friends, and poured from pint can, bottom stamped "CANNED ON 09/09/20" and "CHEERS," gift from brother, into nonic pint.

Pours a bit cloudy gold with a big, creamy head, with great retention and leaving nice lace. Aroma is malty, then juicy citrus and floral. On drinking, it's hop bite to start and finish, around mild caramel malt and melon flavors, for a nice take on the modern west coast APA.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass

A: Pours golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces beautifully.

S: Herbal, dank fruit, melon, pine, citrus, lightly toasted bready malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.

T: Dank herbal notes, zesty citrus, lemon, lime, and tangerine, spicy pine, melon, tropical and stone fruit, papaya, mango, apricot, and peach, the faintest hint of coconut (you have to know to look for it), lightly toasted biscuity bready malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: Not my favorite flavor profile so I'm not crazy about this one, but it's still a well made beer.

This is a pretty good one. Almost as if Winnie The Pooh brewed this son of a gun. It’s all West Coast like sunrise in Santa Monica, but then it finishes on a very smooth honey note. Yeah, this one speaks to me like the first time I smoked a bowl and listened to Spiritualized “Ladies and Gentlemen we are Floating in Space.”

All Raul wants is a little bit of love just to take the pain away...

Can dated 09/09/20 into a tulip glass.

L: Vibrant golden with 2 fingers of frothy pillowy medium-density white head with good retention and left moderate ringed and spotted lacing.

S: Very herbal and earthy, mosaic dankness after that.

T: Follows nose well, subtle pine layer not noticed on the nose. Finishes with moderate bitterness and slight acidity, acidity lingers a bit.

F: Medium bodied with medium-high carbonation, dances on the tongue, moderately full on the swallow.

O: Its just OK for my palate and preferences, I've had many better beers from Pizza Port. Wish they'd used more Mosaic, as there's not much of that coming through. My experience with this beer is nothing like their description. Maybe the cryo Mosaic fades really quickly and I needed to try this much fresher.

Has an interesting lemon peppery spiciness that I can’t put my finger on.
Not super bad but not super good either.

Clear golden yellow brew with plenty of foam in the Piraat tulip. Very fragrant with papaya, melon, and lemon. More flavors of pineapple and something like green gooseberries. Citrus peel in the finish, a little hot along with the moderate bitter aftertaste. Clean and tangy but not acidic.

Overall, quite This is another excellent IPA from Pizza Port's endless romp through the hop fields. A little more bitter than some of the others in this fruity series. From the 16 oz can purchased at Bine & Vine. "Canned on" date 09/03/20.
