This West Coast style IPA was crafted with 2-row malt and flaked rice - hopped to perfection with Mosaic, Strata, Centennial, and Citra hops. The experience begins with a peachy stonefruit aroma, leading into a refreshing palate of bright grapefruit, citrus, and lemon peel. Finishes with subtle hints of tropical fruit and pine, leaving a satisfyingly dry aftertaste. Capture the moments of Summer in every tasty sip.

Picked up a single pint can. Date on can: 05/07/24. Not quite summer anymore!

Pours a hazy golden color with a beautiful finger thick white creamy head on top with excellent retention that leaves a lot of lacing on the glass as you drink. Carbonation looks moderate, albeit the small bubble variety. Quite pretty off the pour.

Aroma is actually pretty balanced with a lightly toasted buttery maltiness, perhaps a hint of vanilla, and a melon, citrus, tropical fruit and pine hoppiness. It even smells creamy. I like where this is going.

Taste follows the nose very well. Again, getting that excellent malt bill throughout with a lightly toasted buttery dough; biscuity. That's the foundation that the hops ride on with a ton of citrus, pine resin, tropical fruit, especially pineapple, and an earthy, grassy bitterness. There's a lot of nuance in there, I seem to pick up on something new every sip. The finish is mostly grapefruit pith and a hint of vanilla maltiness.

This is medium bodied with a solid amount of chewiness. It drinks smooth and creamy and finishes crisp and fairly dry. Quite drinkable for the ABV, but it is a bit of a palate wrecker.

Well, I had low expectations coming in, given the date of the can and the rating here, but I really loved this. This is right in my lane, being a hop-forward but balanced IPA. Great malt profile and I'm really digging the blend of hops here. It's refreshing and provides kind of a mix between new school and old school West Coast IPA style. This is an instant fridge beer for me, slightly edging out Swami's, which I also really like, but I just find this one to be slightly more drinkable. Cheers!

A tasty and balanced IPA that looks pretty, leaves lots of lacing, and has a nice finish that brings you back for another sip. Not my favorite combo of hops, and leans into the citrus aspects. Very easy drinking tho!

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass

A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy eggshell white head that settles to a firm layer and laces quite nicely.

S: Citrus zest, pine resin, grassy herbal notes, melon, underlying tropical and stone fruit, faint floral hints, bready biscuity malt, and just a touch of sweetness.

T: Zesty citrus, grapefruit, lemon lime, and tangerine, resinous pine, slightly dank herbal notes, underlying tropical and stone fruit, apricot, mango, passion fruit, strawberry, peach, pineapple, and light melon, slightly grassy, faint floral notes, bready biscuity malt, and a just a hint of sweetness with a fairly dry finish.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: There's a slight discrepancy between the hops listed on the can (Mosaic, Strata, Motueka) and the ones listed in the description on their website (Mosaic, Strata, Centennial, Citra) so I'm a little curious what happened there. Anyway, as you'd expect from a Pizza Port Westy, it's true to style. Might not be my personal favorite, but it's still solid.

I can always count on Pizza Port’s dependable WCIPAs. This pours as expected, with a light bouquet and a hint of floral hops. Moderate bitterness on the finish. Another Trader Joe's find!

Pours a clear amber with a tall pile of long-lasting foam in the Pilsner glass. Lush aroma of citrus with a peppery note. Lively mouthfeel with Quite fruity with pineapple and some candied grapefruit peel. Hints of coconut. Pineapple-orange juice and a rather hot finish. This is maybe overly bitter but it's clear as all day. The fruity aftertaste is a plus. From the 16 oz can purchased out of the cooler at PP San Clemente.

Very blah. Like, maybe even extremely so. The future is now. The past seems to be no longer remembered or cared for. Pine, resin, weed… good luck. This is the world of West Coast IPA’s apparently. Fruity-like with juice flavors.

I’m done.

Canned 5/14/24 consumed 1 week later from a tall tulip. 2-1/2 finger white head, decreasing to a very persistent 1/8 inch layer over several minutes. Perfectly clear, yellow beer. Lots of lacing. Not much smell. Definitely not getting the claimed peach/stonefruit aroma. Quite bitter taste. This is a beer for WCIPA fans, in terms of bitterness, but no real distinct flavors that I can pick out. Probably pine(?). Some grapefruit rind. Not tropical, despite the claims. Medium to heavy-ish body. Super clean finish. Mild to moderate carbonation

Packaged on 5/6/2024 - enjoyed on 5/18/2024 - poured from a pint can into my Dogfish Head shaped pint glass.

Unclear aureolin body with a fist of messy stiff peaks up top. Thick ropy lacing, excellent retention.

Grassy, citrus-kissed, and lightly dank aroma. Gentle overall.

Potent palate entry, with the flavors largely following the nose - lime, alfalfa, vanilla wafers, chamomile/thyme/rosemary, and faint berry/melon notes. Moderate, but persistent bitterness. Mosaic, Motueka, and Strata work well together, though the overall flavor is a bit muddled. Crisp medium-dry finish.

Light-bodied and refreshing yet creamy and smooth.

Pretty good, and in some ways more "drinkable" than Swami's, though less rewarding (and slightly more expensive) by comparison.
