A slappy pour out of the black waxed bottle produces a black body with burnt brown edges under a short mocha film that dies off instantly to a black mirror surface.
Smell is rich and potent of reduced maple and intense roast that's almost like hickory. This sharper woodiness then gives way to a more attractive and abundant damp yet dark oak pairing well a distinct note of Raisinets.
Taste is more balanced, conveyed by a fuller than expected rounded medium body, delivering candied maple, formidable roast and very woody barrel to the palate. The roast is savory and nutty, and the barrel is charred and woody, while also imparting some vanillins.
The lightly filling fluffy carbonation allows cacao to present more as it warms, but the coffee is not detectable to me. As such, it has became a bit more of a dessert beer, made moreso by the fact that a hint of Neapolitan ice cream in the semi-sticky yet tingly finish seems to develop out of no where, which is an interesting little flourish to end the experience.

This one pours a fairly dark black color (it slightly gushed after opening, but it doesn't seem indicative of anything significant), with a very small head, and not much lacing.
This one smells like heavy dark chocolate, roasty fudge, cookie dough, coffee, big caramelly bourbon, and spicy oak.
As expected, this is really nice. There's a bit of spicy and boozy oak, and leathery and brash bourbon, but the coffee is super smooth, with caramel, smoke, and pleasant roast. The base beer is super fudgy and dark chocolatey. That little touch of lactose makes this wonderfully creamy and silky. I don't really get a whole lot of maple, but that's definitely fine.
This is medium bodied, creamy, velvety, and smooth, with just a hint of booze. It's definitely a slow sipper, and something to savor.
To no one's surprise, this is super pleasant and delicious.

12oz bottle into a green voodoo ibs mug, proper!
looks huge and viscous in the mug, nice dark head
wow huge coffee, bakers chocolate and bourbon, this is going to be good. the mug is nice and wide to really let the aroma hit you in the face
well much like the nose this is a banger, flavors come together really well. coffee is very well done, not overly bitter, lactose really makes it meet a fine line with the coffee bourbon, chocolate, maple and vanilla
mouthfeel is we’re i think voodoo really puts in the work, perfect amount of viscosity
overall voodoo is one of the leaders of the pack of these big ba beers, and this one is not an exception, great beer
