Pours a crystal clear pale straw color with a sudsy white head that flees quickly. The nose has subtle grassy notes and a decent amount of cereal grains, which is exactly where the taste lands.
The mouthfeel is very loans crushingly crisp, perfect for the “summer crusher” that this beer is. Loads of flavor in this very light lager.

Enjoyed fresh from the tap at the College Station Voodoo spot.
Easy drinking with a subtle hop presence and a crisp finish. I do enjoy a well made lager and this fit the bill.

It is what it claims. Not a whole lot of substance here, but it’s a clear step ahead of the macros. Nose is floral, with subtle grain. Palate with a crisp, mildly dry body - notes of cracker, sweet malt, and a touch of floral bitterness.

Poured into a narrow pint glass: color is light gold, clear, head is off white and presents and dissipates nearly as quickly to nothing.
Smell is light sweet mixed malts, yeasty, and not much else.
Taste is muddled malts, light sweetness, some grassed hops, light apple.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, low/moderate sweetness, low/moderate bitterness.
Overall a thin and flatly flavored lager.

the lackluster beat goes on for the voodoo beers, not sure what the issue is, but there is a quality problem most of the time so far in my experience with their stuff no matter where i am having it, this franchise model has to be trouble right? its odd that two can exist in greater boise just a few miles apart, but my time at each has been fairly similar, beer that taste tired or sloppy way more frequently than good ones. this is a light lager that isnt all that light, and its not very good, one of the worst ive had from these guys so far. golden and clear, deep yellow in color, high shine, very little head and less carbonation than i want the style to have. the look, middling as it is, is its best feature. the nose is minimal, a little stinky mildew dishtowel character, generic malt sweetness, and what seems like a stressed out lager yeast profile, really all over the place, not to mention some staleness. the flavor is similar, a little stinky, a little cheap, and really i cant think of a reason this should be as poor as it is, especially for what is essentially a national brand at this point, nothing crafty about it, oddly bitter aftertaste even though it sweet too, some paper, some sweatiness, more body than it needs, a really confusing and lousy beer, i keep giving these guys a shot, but im running out of patience. surprised it seems busy in here quite often, there is a lot better beer around town, no need to drink this junk. is it made low calorie by an enzyme or something, that could be whats happening, totally lacking lagered crispness, i dont even know what to think...

Taster at Voodoo Boise. Clear, pale golden pour, not much of a head. Weak malty aroma, biscuity. Taste is bready, smooth with a light crispiness. Refreshing

I’m not a big lo-cal lager fan, but this beer had more taste than many I’ve tried.

Canned 3/21/22
So, definitely not retired.
Looks more like ginger ale than a light lager. Active carbonation with a head that completely disappears almost immediately. It's like watching a time-lapse rotting animal corpse. Smells light and yeasty with cereal grain and a faint floral hop presence. Maybe a little lemon peeking around the margins. Smells fine. Tastes quite like cereal as well, albeit one that's been lightly hopped. (Yes, I realize that's ridiculous) Still has a mild lemon-y component as well. Mouthfeel is a little heftier than I would have guessed going in, though it's still definitely light. Not quite as "crisp" as most like from this style, though its perfectly drinkable. Nothing special overall, but I do dig the label art.

Aroma is grains/bread/cereal and lager yeast. The flavor is fruit/mild berries, lager yeast, a small hint of wood and a malty/slightly grainy/smooth finish.

Clear and shimmering pale gold with a short creamy white head quickly settling to a thin bubbly collar.
The light body actually has a ricey feel to it, that filmy sort of characteristic as it goes down the gullet, but with a slightly better flavor profile than ALDI's Corona clone Monterrey (which I just had the day before, so it's fresh in mind). There are notes of cornbread and hints of grass before the somewhat numbing (what is that?--I also experience this in other light lagers?) semi-dry finish.
I'm not sure I've seen a craft brewery nail the light lager quite in the way that Voodoo has here, at least not without amping some aspect or other up, but at the same time, it leaves me a little wanting.

This American Light Lager didn't do much for me. After the initial pour from the 12oz can, there was no lacing or head to be found. Was definitely fresh enough with a 'best buy' date of 8/31, and drinking on 4/24.
Honestly, not much different than drinking a PBR; why pay craft price? The can label is cool, though.
