Poured from a 12oz bottle into a TG DBA tumbler. Pours a thick and shiny black with a sliver of mocha brown foam head. Lots of bourbon and baker’s chocolate on the nose. Some caramel as well. Taste follows. This is a little chocolatier than most Voodoo. At least the Black Magick series. I dig it. Thick mouthfeel. Really, really good. Lots of barrel presence. Not really sweet just less dark fruit than some of their other stuff.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a very thick black with zero head. The nose is coffee, toffee, bourbon, barrel char, tobacco, and vanilla.
The taste is fantastic. Dark fruit, loads of bourbon, vanilla, black licorice, oak, slight nutty note, and brown sugar.
Mouthfeel is super thick and chewy. Viscous. Long aftertaste of bourbon and black licorice.

Had on tap. Pitch black body, no head save some brown surface islands. Smells is lead by charred earth, rustic barrel with an emphasis on the wood, rye, roasted malt, and dark chocolate with a hint of anise and caramel. Taste is also lead by the rustic barrel, very complex with the nose of the nose plus a toasty element to the wood and slight raisin, but the second half of the sip is oxidized version of the following: roast, char, rye, earth, licorice and bitter chocolate without a much barrel. Feel is chewy, thick, warm, but not super heavy. Feel like this is good but could have been great with less time in the barrel

Looking like a full on laminar flow of pure black licorice out of the bottle, it fills to an obsidian black with a short but impressively dark brown blanket.
The rye livens this up to a complexity BRC hasn't showcased for a minute. It's almost like cinnamon roll and spiced date but doused by a hefty chocolate ganache and paired with a charred cedar that brings some powdery tobacco in the finish.
Incredibly viscous, it's damn near Berk levels but for all that added rye complexity which, in conjunction with the oak, adds a little black pepper and pistachio. A touch of Madagascar vanilla develops over time, at times making the overall expression hint at raspberry sticks, though only in glancing suggestions.
