Bomber from Malt and Vine poured a clear orange amber with a small lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of grassiness, skunk bud, pine, earthiness, bread and grapefruit. Mouthfeel was medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of skunk bud, earthiness, pine, bread and grapefruit with a crisp dry bitter lingering skunk bud finish.

Trying a Dicks Beer; Imperial IPA. The pour pours a hazy copper with very thin white head that is lacing slightly. The smell is not very impressive, if anything it is mostly malt. The taste is a more perfect blend of malt and hop then anything specific...meaning can't pick out a particular hop that is pushing the balance. The bottle says columbus, which makes more sense....not much in citrus or pine, but more floral with slight citrus tones. The mouthfeel is full bodies with slighth carbonation. The overall is good, glad to have the chance to try it.

Thanks, Gil.

A: The pour is amber-orange in color with a small white head.

S: All sorts of wrong. Sweet caramel and toffee dominates, but there is booze and harsh pine with a bit of green apple and melon. Sweet bread and caramel with a bit of oxidation.

T: Same story on the flavor. Sweet bread, toffee, and caramel malts with citrus peel and pine. Somewhat bitter with a little bit of grass and some definite booziness.

M: Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation.

O: Another BAD IPA.

22oz bottle poured into a large mug

Pours a lightly coppery amber color with a nice big frothy head, fading leaving a curtain of lacing. Lots of active carbonation keeps the head there (but not so tall as at first pour). Very slightly cloudy. Smell is mildly floral, mildly caramelly.

Taste is grapefruit bitter, a little bit of roasty bitter, medium-sweet maltiness that doesn't balance it out (but should it for an imperial IPA?). This might be getting bonus points for being pretty much exactly what I was in the mood for.

Mouthfeel is dry and smooth. Overall, I'm quite happy.

Another amazing NW hoppy beer shared at Woodshop Classix, someone has a mordant sense of humor.

A: Reddish orange with a white head, okay retention, and scattered lacing left on the glass.

S: An amazing display of Northwestern prowess: stale bread, caramel, and cardboard. Alcohol and a shadow of citrus.

T: Moderately bitter bread with caramel and cardboard. Lots of alcohol. The hops are sad, shadows of shadows.

Overall: Another shockingly bad hoppy beer from the Northwest. This is probably one of those local Washington gems I keep hearing about.

A: Pours a reddish/orange color, nice sized white head with great lacing down the glass
S: Part citrusy/part piney hops. Also earthy scents in there as well
T: Sweet brown sugar and fruity maltiness up front followed by piney flavors
M: Medium bodied beer carbonation seems about right on
O: This is a really tasty beer, didnt even realize Dicks made an imperial IPA until I stopped by the brewery. Glad I picked this one up.

Poured into 10oz glass. Poured a fairly attractive orangeish amber with just the very thinnest cap of white head that had low retention and almost no lacing.

The aroma wasn't as bold as I was expecting (but in fairness, this particular bottle waited around for a couple months while I was unable to try it) but still had a very good pine and floral hop presence. The hops were much bolder on the tongue, with a bit of citrus mixing in with the pine. There was a nice malt foundation that didn't show up on the nose.

The body was a bit fuller than average for the style. Drinkability was pretty good for strong hoppy beer, I actually drank the whole 22 myself. Overall, another pretty good brew from one of our area's less heralded breweries. Worth trying.

into a nonic

Pours a deep golden amber with a thick off white head that fades to some sticky lacing.

Aroma is of bready malts and a little alcohol.

Tastes of earthy bitter hops and not too sweet malt. Booze is present but not in a bad way. Lingering hop finish with a tad of spice and citrus.

Mouthfeel is medium with great carbonation.

Overall is well done. Ok. Good. Not great.

I swore off beer during the week but tonight is an exception. Need a nice big beer to chill me out after today.

A: This one pours a nice orange/brown with 2 fingers head leaving a nice skim coat behind and lacing

S: Nose is hops, malt, meh

T: Taste is citrus, malt, stinging bitterness that lingers, no balance in the finish for my taste.

M: Mouthfeel is right on - medium body

O: A bit of a letdown - looking at this brewery I wish I could have gotten a bottle of "Dick in the Dirt" - man that's a pretty cool name for a beer. In any event, not terrible but not one I would try again in the near future.

Poured a deep goldish amber color with good carbonation and a nice white head. Nose is big chewy, malt forward to me, booze and some erthiness. Taste is a big malt body, hops, yes, citrus and floral, earthy notes and booze. I bet this thing has a big OG. It is a big brew, but not a big IIPA I would consistently go back too.
