really simple and basic, like a very light blonde ale on the malt side but with the crispness of a lager, the yeast is minimal in terms of flavor, but there is a little but of european pils type character to the grain, crackery and dry but with that characteristic cereal note, an easy summer drinking but also not a very exciting brew, just a warm weather ripper, nothing more. i like how pale it is, no frills kind of stuff, holds a short white bubbly head, seems excited, maybe slightly watered down looking. the nose is really minimal, some softly citrusy hops come through, some minerals from the water, and a light dough note from the grain but thats all, clean enough on the ferment though, and nothing cheap, so ahead of the curve there. the flavor follows, faint floral honey thing leading into the hops and just light bitterness late, it tastes like it smells, balanced and less boring than others even without a huge yeast contribution, its dry and fast and bubbly, and i find it refreshing. hard to get too jazzed up about a light lager like this, but it tastes fresh, drinks easy, and all the intangibles are there. my first new one from these guys in forever it seems like...
