Poured hard from a bottle into a snifter glass forming a finger of tan head on a cola brown body. A bit malty and a hint of bitterness, but mostly a solid chocolate and mild hazelnut flavor. Pretty much as described, but not too intense or sweet. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Pretty solid, especially for the price.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip

A- pours jet black in color with a one-finger foamy khaki head that has good retention and leaves some lacing behind

S- nutty and buttery hazelnut up front, followed by notes of chocolate, roasted malt, caramel and a hint of caramel

T- sweet and malty up front with a dose of chocolate and cocoa, followed by a kick of hazelnut that adds a sharp nuttiness, which continues into mid-palate, with notes of caramel and coconut. The finish gives more hazelnut and chocolate, which stick around on the linger

M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that turns creamy into the finish

Smells like Almond joy. Amazing almond joy and hazlenut taste. Ends with dark chocolate notes.

From a growler, although I have exceedingly fond memories of this in bottle form from a couple years ago. Poured with a robust tan foam head and a dark brown body. Scent has the hazelnut coming across nicely, especially when paired with the chocolate stout base -- a winning combination that is surprisingly not as sweet as one might have expected. Taste is sublime: the hazelnut provides a smooth and sweet base while the chocolate and coffee flavor round this out. Feel is smooth, full bodied, with a touch of alcohol obvious on the tongue, and has an aftertaste with a bit more chocolate (but the hazelnut does linger nicely). If you enjoy hazelnut coffee, this is one you have to try if you can find it -- or vote it in for next years Box of Chocolates when the time comes.

Pours a near black color with a tan head, just a little on top. Smell is hazelnut with hints of cocoa and malts. Taste is malt, hazelnut, bitter chocolate, hint of hops at the end. Medium body, flavors linger for a while after the finish. Overall this is nice, easy to drink, would certainly drink this again.
