I am far from an experienced beer reviewer, but after taking a chance and buying this from Aldi’s local beers shelf, I want to encourage others to give it a try, too. It is a gorgeous golden coppery color, and the beer had a lovely creamy 1/2” head that persisted while I tried not to guzzle this down. The tiny bubbles persisted throughout, but didn’t feel buzzy or anything in my mouth. I have a really difficult time with super dry or hoppy beers, and this one was comfortable and tasty. It is not a high-alcohol beer, so I wasn’t left feeling woozy after I finished it with lunch. Finally, it was $7.99/six-pack, so I feel like it was a good deal. To conclude: I feel very happy with my decision to buy this!

We’ve been exploring the “craft” selection at the local Lidl location. Tasted 4/24 packed 4/12 so very fresh, seems to be popular as it’s been sold out on previous visits. Pretty dark clear gold color. White fizzy head sticks around for a minute or so. Taste isn’t complex, but certainly isn’t off putting either. A little malty, a little dry. Very light thin feel. Overall not a bad brew: decent flavor, very drinkable... poundable even if the occasion calls for such. My favorite lidl find so far!

I picked up a six pack of Craft Explorers Blue Rdge Lager at Lidl in March, 2020. I am being presumptuous in attributing this brew to Starr Hill since the label gives a non-commital "central virginia brewing". Feel free to correct me on this if I'm wrong. This beer at about 60F was sampled in a sham pilsener glass. The beer has a fizzy head that dissipates instantly. The body is a moderate amber. The flavor is OK, on the dry side with a moderate body with just a hint of roasted malt. I'm thinking this is a lot like Yuengling Lager or Dos Equis Amber. At a price of about $7 per six pack, its at least competitive in price and quality with the similar brews I mentioned.
