A little more honey-ish sweet than a traditional Tripel but it’s not bad.

Thin appearance, fluffy head, golden color
Aroma is weak. Starts out fruity but fades into what smells like an AAL
Tastes better than it smells. Candied fruit, boozy notes come in, it tastes fine but kind of muddled
Average mouthfeel
Overall it’s okay.

Starr Hill describes this tripel as having "notes of plum, sweet honey, and mild spice. These notes offer up a complex, yet balanced Belgian-style Ale." I wanted to like this more and it sounded good on the can's label describing a fruited Belgian-style ale. But I'm reviewing this during the BA Tripel tasting and it's not really in line with other tripels and how they taste.
I'd rate the look higher, but the head has dissipated within maybe 20 seconds after a moderately hard pour, and what's left in the glass is a non-clear, yellow-peachy colored brew.
Smell is okay, and the honey notes are there. Probably the strongest factor in favor of this take on a tripel.
Taste: Not much carbonation, some fruit notes of plum, and I don't really taste an alcohol presence; if that's good or not, I'm undecided. It's easily drinkable as far as mouthfeel, too. But tastewise it's not as interesting or layered as I'd like.

A can poured into a pint glass. Pour had a hazy golden body with a fluffy white foam head. The eastern bluebird on the can is also a nice touch! Scent has the classic tripel scent with notes of dark fruit and honey. Taste has a touch of alcohol noticeable that flows nicely to the darker fruit and honey flavors from the scent. Feel is smooth -- verging on creamy -- with a delightful lightly fruited aftertaste. An enjoyable twist on the Tripel style.
