Pours a clear amber color with a nice head and lacing
Aroma has malt and hop hints
Taste has malt and hop flavors
A medium bodied well carbonated beer
A good IPA
ps-My wife purchased knowing I love WCIPAs, but I am a stickler for freshness, and at 3 months out, the malt is starting to dominate. Not a bad beer, good value, but if you are at Lidl and thinking of purchasing look at the date! After all, the beers are not refrigerated, so the drop off in quality is going to come much sooner than later.
pps-And yes I love my wife! Hopefully she buys Pliny next time!

Craft Explorers West Coast Style IPA is a LIDL exclusive, about $9.00 a six pack, marketed as by Central Virginia Brewing Co. Twelve oz. bottled 7/19, poured on 8/13 at about 50F into a sham pilsner glass. It's not a bad beer. But I'd expect a "West Coast IPA" to pour clear. This is a hazy IPA. Thin foam falls quickly. Aroma is tropical, and hop character is mostly the tropical flavor. I'd expect more bittering. Alcohol of 7.5% is high for my preference, but is not evident in the flavor. More New England hazy than West Coast style, in my opinion.
