This is a classic Irish Stout. Full bodied yet soft and spectacular in appearance. This stout has a smooth roasted flavor and is very well-balanced.

Pint on draft at the brewery in South Portland.
Appearance: Dark but clear mahogany, almost black. One inch leathery head. Looks like a stout. Nice looking one too!
Aroma: Nice nose on this one. Chocolate, cocoa, lots of coffee.
Taste: Follows nose with coffee leading. Dark chocolate. Very tasty.
Mouthfeel: Super smooth.
Overall: Exactly what this Irish boy wants out of an Irish stout. Smooth and delicious with lots of flavor and minimal booze. Could drink this all day and everything dumb I said would still be my fault.

Poured on draft at the brewery.
Pours a dark cola brown color with a finger of creamy off-white head. The head has good retention and leaves a ton of sticky lacing.
The aroma brings notes of dark roasted malts, with some very faint hints of chocolate.
The flavor brings forward plenty of roasted malts, caramel, vanilla, and subtle chocolate. Very roasted throughout. Sweet, but nicely balanced.
The feel is medium bodied with moderately light carbonation. Smooth and highly drinkable. Nicely dry on the finish.
Overall, a pretty good stout that brings very little aroma but more than makes up for in taste and feel. A nice, straightforward stout with no strings attached.

Solid Irish stout, a little better than Guinness Extra Stout and a little worse than the rare (but delicious) Cigar City "Patio Tools", if not the best Irish stout then probably the best widely-available Irish Dry that I know of. Certainly sessionable, if anyone dislikes this they just don't like stout, period. Medium sweet, light carbonation, medium body, short white head and a mellow malt aroma that reminds me of Whoppers (the candy, not the burger). A little vanilla and milk chocolate in the taste.
