A very traditional version of the Pale ale. classic English malt effect, the hops through fresh, earthy, piney and slight citrus notes in the nose.

The flavor is of english style malt, slightly sweet and bready, nice crisp effect, medium bodied feel, smooth and snappy with some really nice and fesh hop flavor's, some earthy and some piney and slightly bitter.

Great balance with all the right aspects, not massive complexity but very true to this style.

First tried as part of a sampler, this is one of their beers that I decided to enjoy with a full pint.

Pint came with a very thin head that topped a slightly hazy light amber beer. Subtle lace clings to the glass.

Aroma is light but very nice. Perfume/floral with a touch of citrus. A hint of light toasted malt.

Fresh and balanced pretty much sums up this beer. And that is a compliment fit an APA. A touch of grapefruit and a nice cracker malt base. A hint of green herbs. Nice finish to the flavor.

A touch crisp and dry. A sparkle of carbonation.

A wonderful fresh example of the style. I want to try this on cask someday.

This is a superior house beer offering. BTW, the abv was listed as 5.2%.

Great look: excellent head and lace. If there were a complaint, it would be the utterly muddy appearance (way beyond cloudy). It affects the color, which I'd describe as a milky, amber color.

Hard to get an aroma in a 4oz glass, but I'd describe it as a raw hop--inviting.

Great malty start which gives way to a sharp biting hop flavor, but it isn't harsh. The body is rich. There's a mild yeast flavor. Overall, a very nicely balanced APA.

Pours a clear copper gold hue with a large frothy creamy offwhite head which adorns the glass with sticky lace.

Strong spicey and floral hops atop a bready malt base.

Grapefruit citrus hops. Sweet bready malt. Hops become spicey. Subtle but lingering resinous piney finish encourages another sip.

Mouthfeel is creamy and substantial; a bit thicker than many pale ales. Almost a hint syrupy towards the end and I consider that a good thing.

The drinkability is very high. I brought a growler home and its not going to last long.

Chair City Pale is a well-hopped, spicey american pale ale. Very good!

Pours a weathered copper that shines a bit through the Imperial Pint. Head rises quickly and settles over a short while leaving a nice dirty white cap on this one. Aromas of perfectly done wheat/rye toast and hops - another sniff moves to all hops. Tastes again of that perfectly done piece of toast that quickly disappears into citrus hops. No dominant citrus flavors come through, but citrus nonetheless. Taste moves quickly to a dry hoppy finish. The kind that just makes you want to take another sip. Carbonation is moderate and perfect for the brew.

This is one drinkable APA. My brother and I moved through this growler in record time. My last glass was paired with my Milagu Kozhi Chettinad (Indian), and worked great. Drinkability is high -Well Done across the board.

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 1" eggshell head over the slightly cloudy orangey copper brew. Head fades slowly, leaving ample delicate lace. Aroma is lightly fruity, stronger pine, overall dominantly hoppy. Taste finds a sedate yet structural amount of light to medium malts, coupled with aggressive yet controlled hop character, and a citrusy bitter close. Mouthfeel is so smooth, and drinkability is so easy. Definitely one that could be revisited often.
