Benelux Atoka….on tap at the Brewpub
Appearance-a golden yellow appearance with minimal head. The beer actually looks flat, just sits there without much action, which makes me a little nervous.
Smell-strong wafts of the berry hit the nose, straw malt mix and alcohol round it out, slight hints of the wheat that is advertised is in there too but not nearly as strong.
Taste/Mouthfeel-refreshing and different, the cranberry flavor is there but is balanced well and takes a background seat to the wheat and straw flavor upfront, a decent smoothness remains constant throughout, finishes with a last flourish of raspberry fruit and a spiciness as well. The raspberry flavor is really interesting.
Overall-my second favorite fruit beer to Blue Point’s Blueberry Ale, both keep the fruit flavor there but don’t let it dominate the beer, so you actually feel like your drinking a beer and not sour fruit juice. Well done.

On-tap at the brewpub. "With wheat and cranberries," the description says.
Hazy, golden color with a small head.
Wheat dominates the aroma, and there's a ripe, tart fruit component here.
Flavor is dry and full of wheat and some cranberries, but the fruit is neither sweet nor overwhelming. It provides a dry, faint tartness that complements the wheat well. Doesn't taste "fruity."
Light and fizzy on the mouth.
This is one of the better fruit beers I've had. The use of cranberries is a bit unique, and I like this more than any of the more common raspberry wheat beers I've had.
