Right now, you are holding another hop monster of a beer brewed in San Diego county. We know this is hardly original, but we love hops just as much as you do, so let's party! This oozes hop oils, aroma, and flavors. We hope it's a worthy addition to the riches that is the Port Brewing family of beers. We hope you look forward to this annual release as much as we do.

Stunningly clear, golden body with a dense, sticky and sculpted head; fingers of lacing adhering to the glass. Fruity and pine resin aroma; citrus. Bold flavors; lots of hop bitterness; bready; subtle esters. Heavy body; a bit slick yet the bitterness and alcohol create a slight prickliness on the palate; relatively dry.
There is no bottling information on the label, but the web site indicates this beer is an annual release in May and June, so this sample has some age to it. Regardless, it is very satisfying, nicely balanced and complex.

L - Bronze, no clarity, 2 full fingers of head that does not go down! Tons of sticky lacing all over this brew and glass. Impressive
S - Big pine cone hops, dominate. Citrus present but this is a West Coast IPA
T - Big hop bomb, but citrus overwhelms the pine surprisingly. Tons of malts, sweet, boozy, pine and citrus. West Coast IPA to the core. Well done!
F - Full body, and high carbonation.
O - Happy Anniversary!> I was there for the 5th. Is it really 12?

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium rich golden amber with coppery tones and a fine, two finger white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus, pine and dank hops, orange and grapefruit citrus, mixed ripe tropical fruit. Flavor follows with caramel malt, citrus and piney hops, orange, lemon, light grapefruit, mixed stone and tropical fruit, pine needles; finishes with lingering lightly resinous pine and citrus hops and mixed fruit. Medium bodied with light creaminess and sharp carbonation. A classic West Coast IPA profile with a nice mixture of citrus and piney hops, citrus fruit and unidentifiable, but flavorful mixed fruit. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but this is still my favorite IPA style and this is an excellent one. A stellar Anniversary IPA. ABV dangerously well covered. I'll remember this one tomorrow. Looks, smells and tastes great.

Pretty standard West Coast triple. Heavy like Oprah after her latest binge, yet still smooth like Alan Ladd when you call ‘draw.’ Hoppy, bitter... Yah, yah, yah. Not bad.

A really beautiful beer, this pours a golden orange with a smidge of hop haze and a big, sudsy bone white head. Pine and citrus aromas share the stage as you take a whiff, and there’s a caramalt note as well.
The caramalt is a bit more pronounced on the taste, but the citrus and especially the pine notes are not relegated to second chair - this is all in balance in this classic West Coast DIPA.
