Billed as an American wheat aged with cherry puree, Red Wolf is a summer session ale. Its aroma is remote and its mild mannered flavor touches upon cold cereal and rosewater. While cherry flavor does make a modest appearance, it is genteel and none too formative. In fact, without knowing it, Id say theres no cherry puree in this brew at all.
Red Wolf is a stormy, clouded ale that looks like apple cider. It shares no ester properties with hefeweizen and is disappointingly undercarbonated. Its not a bad beer, but fails to deliver on the promise of cherries and doesnt serve the style. As an experiment in brewing it is not nearly as successful as Harmons raspberry stout.
