an extremely basic, yet not very good lager here, somehow the better of the two beers we had in here, makes no sense. i dont even know if they are brewing here anymore or not, but this lager tastes tired, either it was made forever ago, or by someone amateur or careless. its sweet, the fermentation profile is a little soapy, and it kind of lacks a soul. drinkable enough i suppose, light in body, decently well carbonation, and only slightly metallic in the finish, but thats not enough anymore, especially in this town, which has gotten super beery and produces some great lagers. there is decent clarity here, not much head, some shine in the glass, and to me a slightly oxidized, slightly cheap, almost corny sort of nose to it, unexciting, a little flawed, and its almost like the yeast was pitched too warm or something, stressed, some light phenolic stuff happening here that kills the refreshment value. the beers in here seemed kind of sloppy to me, not to be unnecessarily harsh, but it wouldnt take much to make this radically better, and even then it would still be boring...
