Nitro tap while visiting Seattle, forget the bar we were at. Pours thick black with very creamy head. Aroma of burnt toffee and chocolate, a hint of espresso, but pretty subdued aroma overall. Flavor lacks a bit, with watered down roasted grains and a hint of chocolate--but this is the feel I get from most things on nitro. Could be a bit more robust. Overall a decent porter, but so many other things out west that I would prefer.

A: Poured a deep brown with good carbonation leaving a tan cap

S: Pretty tame with hints of roasted malt and thats about it

T: Pretty simple. Roasted malt, hints of chocolate. Overly done on the roasted malt.

M: Mouthfeel was medium body, roasted notes, light booze feel but not so much on the taste

*Review is for the Bourbon Barrel Imperial Porter.

Poured into a medium size sniffer at Bottleworks, dark looking almost like a RIS with a good amount of carbonation. Smell is good- not great- smells a bit like coffee on the verge of being burnt, but the bourbon barrel really rounds this off well.

Once I taste it, it tastes excellent, a bit of bitterness but not enough to be strongly noticeable, with some bourbon being present. Good malty flavors, this beer might not be mind blowing but it sure tastes great.

Overall this is a great sipping beer, especially for an Imperial Porter.

Fresh growler (Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Porter) from Bottleworks poured into pint glasses

Pours a dark brown, almost black, very nearly opaque. Small beige head with no lacing. Smells sweet, chocolatey, cherries.

Taste is very very rich...smokey and sweet, cherries and coffee...the barrel aging is noticeable and appreciated.

Mouthfeel is pleasant with that slight grittiness I find typical to porters. Drinkable for the style. I find it a very pleasant beer.

I'm not sure if this the same as the other porter listed here (not the Brown Porter), if it is would someone combine them please.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured black, like a stout, with over an inch of medium tan head that dissipated quickly and left just a trace of lacing.

A pleasant roasty aroma, with a slight coffee scent, greets the nose. The taste is rather subdued, other than the expected roast flavors nothing really stands out.

The body is slightly on the thin side for the style. Drinkability is nice but not outstanding. Overall, a pleasant, if unspectacular, brew. Worth trying.
