4 oz nitro tap pour into an American Tumbler at Riverside in West Bend.
A - The nitro tap leaves this beer totally black in the glass. Only towards the end was it noticeably clear dark brown. A big, two-finger tan head with ok retention and a ring of foam was left.
S - Dark roasted malts flood the nose with a light coffee ground hint. I don't believe it's got any coffee in it though. A dry cocoa finish ends the slightly-better-than-average aroma.
T - Dark roasted malts with the coffee and cocoa hints to it just like the nose. The finish is pretty dry and roasty bitter.
M - Medium-full bodied stout that, from the nitro, probably feels lighter than it really is. Very dry and roasted bitter to the finish.
D - While it's really roasty, it's a good Irish stout that's got a little ways to go, but it's getting there. I wouldn't want more than one though.
