4 oz tap pour into an American Tumbler at Riversite in West Bend.
A - The color is a totally hazy brown muddy, dirty color with almost no head til the swirl. It then popped up to a light tan, poorly retained head with no lace.
S - The nose was almost undetectable until I gave it a good swirl. Then I picked up a Belgian yeast strain with the sweet amber-ish malts, dark candi-sugar, and low spice.
T - Dark candi-sugar as well as the amber-ish malts give it a big sweetness. The Belgian qualities seem to have an off funk to them I can't say I like. The finish has mild spice but a poor metallic finish.
M - A medium-bodied dubbel that's smooth and sweet with a poor metallic finish.
D - This dubbel could use a good amount of work. It's not terrible, but it's not very drinkable cause of that metallic finish.
