To qualify my review, I love my beer but I am not a connoisseur, however, as an advocate of all things organic, and a virtual devotee of ginger, this beer really hit the spot! Fresh, clean and an adequate amount of ginger for a true ginger devotee! It is a bright crisp and sweet beer. I wish the chemist who invented this would do versions of it. A pretty light amber color in perfect keeping with the spice.

Glad I tried but won't try again. Son likes it though and he has pretty good taste. Give it a shot and judge for yourself. It was a bit too sweet for me.

I really wanted to like this, and I mostly did, but it was a little on the sweet side for my tastes and if it even gets a little warm it is no longer palatable. Maybe this is a characteristic of farm house ales?

This pours a pale golden in the glass. I get some light funky notes. Flavor comes across as crisp, with a subdued ginger note tying it all together. It's ok.

Growler fill at The Green Growler in Croton on Hudson , NY.

Hazed and dull looking medium tangerine, minor fine bubble head leaving just a memory of lacing

Some wheaty malt, lime and ginger on the nose

Ginger and lime stand out on the palate, along with wheat malts again, and some Belgian yeast characteristics. Not bad, went well with some Thai marinated baby back ribs

On tap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. Saisons are usually a must to avoid for me, but on recommendation, after a few pints of assorted other styles, this hit the spot.

Actually that's streching the point as it was refreshing, but there is a substantial body in the texture that has a slight aftertaste, which, in the circumstance of ginger, works against preconcieved convention. That being said, I like it.

Yellow-gold color with minimal head and lots of carbonation. Aroma is of ginger and light malt. Taste is very refreshing with nuances of fresh ginger. Light and refreshing, tastes like ginger ale

Pours a crystal clear pale straw in color with a finger of dense white head. Aroma is lots of ginger with some other spicy notes in the background. Taste is heavy on the ginger with a touch of Belgian hops and some crystal malts. Light in body with moderate+ carbonation. Overall a decent beer, if the ginger were a bit more restrained I'd find this more enjoyable, as it stands I found this refreshing and would almost consider this a palate cleanser if it were more balanced.

Really nicely balanced. Ginger comes through in the nose and taste but no heat. Perfect amount. The ginger overpowers the characteristics of the saison style but again it's ginger. Awesome beer and easy drinking at 4.7% Cheers.

On-tap 3/1/2015 at Doherty’s East Ave Irish Pub in Pawtucket, RI, served in a tapered pint glass.

A: The beer is a light gold color, with a large white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick but spotty lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains heavy ginger, some citrus, Belgian yeast, caramelized malts and a touch of hops.

T: The taste likewise is heavy on the ginger which is followed by sweet flavors of citrus and caramel. Then a decent breadiness comes in from Belgian yeast and a hearty but not too heavy malt character. The hops presence is mild but brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: A little tasty but I think the ginger is too powerful, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, it’s a decent beer to drink for a while if you into the ginger flavor.

A: Pours a clear straw yellow color with a fingers worth of head that fizzles down to a decent cap fairly quickly

S: The ginger starts things off, along with a bit of Belgian yeast that imparts some fruitiness and spiciness. Some clove is also detectable

T: Again, starts off with a strong ginger presence. The yeast then lends some of the fruity and spicy notes once the ginger wears down a little. Some wheat is present quickly as well, before the ginger comes back into play and cleans the palate on the finish

M: Light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: The ginger is definitely the star of this beer, but the Belgian yeast imparts some nice saison qualities as well. Very easy to drink and would go extremely well with sushi or something light

12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip.

Appearance: Pours a mostly clear but slightly hazy gold with a one-finger white head that recedes fairly quickly. No lacing.

Aroma: Smells of ginger, some hop bitterness, and some bread, and has some somewhat peppery, spicy notes. Doesn't smell like a ginger beer. Smells like a beer with ginger.

Taste: This beer has a nice, dry taste that I like a lot in a saison. The ginger is more than an accent but it's not overpowering. It's somewhat like drinking a good, summery saison while chewing a ginger candy. Good stuff.

Mouthfeel: It's light of body in the way a summery beer should be.

Overall: I like this saison a lot. I had it with a pizza from Otto - Portlandest combination ever. The ginger was a risky idea but it really adds a lot to the flavor without dominating it. This is definitely my favorite beer from Peak so far.

Appearance - Straw yellow in appearance

Smell - The smell is predominantly pickled ginger - like the type that comes with sushi, not fresh-peeled ginger

Taste - The taste reflects the smell: pickled ginger. No saison taste.

Mouthfeel - Medium body, nothing remarkable.

Overall - Not a great beer.

A: The beer is slightly hazy pale yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high head that quickly died down, leaving a patch of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of ginger are present in the nose.
T: The taste mostly follows the smell, but has stronger flavors of ginger. No spices or yeast are perceptible.
M: It feels a little more than light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I didn't notice any characteristics in this beer that would define it as a saison and would consider this to be more like an herbed/spiced beer. It's not a bad beer if you like ginger but in any event it is one dimensional.

If you want a spicy ginger beer, Left Hand's Good JuJu is a better option. If you want to know how ginger can be melded with Belgian a Belgian style, say witbier, Westbrook's White Thai is the better candidate.
This leaves me with Peak Organic ginger beer, err...saison. In realty, the aroma is pretty much seltzer with a lot of grated ginger in it. The feel is like seltzer with lively carbonation, and a watery thinness backed by a slightly astringent finish. The taste is like craft ginger beer that one might buy for their kids. It still has the medium-light straw color of beer, however, that is made hazy by the addition of the ginger.
Sometimes I use the descriptor one-dimensional off-handedly, but for this beer where there is no hint of fruit, sweetness, nor herbs-only a bombardment of ginger spice-nothing more can be said.

Greenish gold color. Small head with some small remnants of ring lace.

Great ginger aroma and it smells like fresh grated ginger root. Little other smells because this is so dominating.

While the ginger is a bit lighter, it is still, by far, the strongest flavor of this brew. The malt is strong enough to prevent this from being a true "ginger ale". Yet, ginger is the only flavor in the swallow and what makes the aftertaste linger. Full body with low carbonation.

I'd say this something of a novelty beer. While I like it, I'll likely never drink it again.
