We love sipping on super dry, effervescent champagnes as the weather warms - so we made an IPA that re-creates that experience. Sparkle uses a wicked light grain bill and a special yeast strain to get in a crisp, bone-dry body. We absolutely LOAD this beer up with organic Calypso, Azacca, Idaho 7 and Citra hops, to give a huge burst of fruit and pine aromas. A healthy dose of bubbles rounds out this drinking experience, and creates a very unique concoction. We hope you enjoy! Sparkle - A Toast to life’s Peak moments!

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy pale light yellow in color. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that quickly settled down, leaving just a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of pears are present in the nose along with hints of green apples and limes.
T: The taste follows the smell and is mostly dominated by flavors of pear juice and has hints of limes and stone fruit. Only a slight amount of bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a very dry finish.
O: I enjoyed the aromas and flavors of pears in this beer, which made it very unique among IPAs. It also had a very nice and dry mouthfeel.

Welcome back to my New Odds & Sods Beer Sunday (Week 746)! I just completed a Peak Organic horizontal a few weeks ago & Thursday was the date of the annual Pitt Alumni Networking Day. I try to attend every year & the local, central PA coordinator does a nice job, alternating events between Harrisburg & here in Lancaster, but it becomes the same faces, year after year. 8=( I decided to branch out this year & looked eastward, towards PHL. They were having one in center city & another out in the 'burbs. Where? Ardmore! It is the easiest thing to come into Ardmore via Amtrak from Lancaster, plus, besides Tired Hands, there is also an Iron Hill & my destination of choice, The Beer Shoppe. I popped in for a draft & to browse their astounding selection when I hit upon this one. Perfect for today & a good segue from the previous one. Plus, I may get the photo credit …

Time for a Crack! of the vent followed by a C-Line Glug! I have to agree with @openmind that it was pouring kinda hazy. That being the case, I went a bit more aggro & let it run freely. You CAN imagine that this led to a fair amount of foaming action which caused me to back down & off. It settled into two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with decent retention, leaving a modicum of lacing in its wake. Color was a hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose was yummy with a clean, dry citrusy quality of especially grapefruit. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy. The taste was full-on grapefruit & I have to say, I have missed this for the longest in AIPAs thanks to the preponderance of Tropical AIPAs. Mmm. This style is meant to mimic champagne & if that is the case, I CAN envision a Mimosa-like twist, involving either orange OR grapefruit juice! I might try this next weekend … Finish was super dry and refreshingly citrusy. I wouldn't want a cooler filled with it, but as an interlude, this is quite tasty! YMMV.

Only had a coupla other bruts. This one seems like a "next generation" Brut. It is more of a New England style. Cloudy. Juicy but dry at the same time. Really great.
