Strong stuff--it's got this funky, grainy, borderline chocolatey pungent thing going on under the citrus. When I drink it with certain food (e.g. cheddar, right now) the funk falls into the background a bit and a more typical grapefruit/pine flavor comes out. I like it but I kinda have to prepare myself for it.

This time, it takes a clear glass liter mug to accommodate the contents of the can. It's a 19.2 fluid ounce can, the kind referred to as "ballpark size" on the TV beer show, What’s Brewing". The result is as good-looking as any beer could provide. Its color is golden amber, neither bright nor dull and neither opaque nor translucent. The head is almost stark white, initially about half an inch deep and seems to be enduring. The aroma almost compares to the sight. Malt and hops dominate, but there are also traces of yeast and alcohol. The hops seem like they bring references to citrus and pine. The body is smooth, especially for carrying an 8.5% ABV. To the taste, the balance disappears during the finish. Initially there's a good balance between the malt and hops, but then the hops take over. To a hop lover, this is not a bad thing. In fact, it's enjoyable to experience the transition. At the finish, it's dry and piney hop bitter. The ABV probably adds an assist here, but this doesn't ever have an alcohol blast takeover. The glass lacing is good all the way through, again especially for a brew with this much ABV. Even if organic products don't matter to you, any lover of good biting hops should have a try at this.

From a 567 ml. can with a BB date of 09/28/2022. Sampled Aug 6, 2022.
Slightly cloudy looking medium amber underneath a foamy off-white head. Not hazy.
Aroma of pine characters, white bread, and barley grain. Not picking up any booze.
The mouthfeel is in the medium range
The taste has a sort of creamy and grainy sweetness going on. The hops are earthy and fall into the traditional range rather than a modern juicy or fruity IPA. So, I appreciate that.

19.2 oz. Can. 7/18/22 reviewed
Look: Only the slightest haze with amber/orange/gold color. Very sticky white lace as th foam receded Slow.
Nose: Herbal, husky and lemon zest hops. Sour and zesty hop and malts, tangy with a hint of pepper.
Feel & Flavor: Peak makes very fresh and crispy feeling beers. It smooths out rather nicely. The balance of herbal, earthy, tangy, sour and fruity flavors from both malts and hops is odd, and rather interesting. Dry-hopped style is a bit subdued honestly, in complexity of hop flavor.
Overall: Double dry-hopped mids at best, don't get me wrong, I like what Peak does, but it's seriously underwhelming for such a "big" beer. 8.5% and the complexity is much lower level. Earthy, herbal, husky aspects are the finest feature.

Can best before 2022-10-17. A gorgeous pour with a thick, creamy head that laces the bejeezus out of the glass and persists to the bottom. Aromas are some dank hops I'm not the biggest fan of. Flavors continue in the same vein - I think this is both fresh and well-crafted, but some of these dank notes aren't my fave. Decent hop bite, it seems a crossover beer with some bitterness, but also aromatic dry-hopping. Finishes slightly bitter. Not bad at all, just not my jam.
