It's a hazy and it's got orange in it, but it tends toward the grainy, bitter side more than the bright, "tropical" side. So that's pleasantly surprising. Not my favorite style, but my favorite approach to the style.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a hazed orange-yellow color with a big head of puffy white foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading slowly over time and leaving a tons of puffy foam lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a bready and malty smell mixed with some lightly toasted malt. For a brew with blood orange the citrus is light on the nose, with some notes of orange and grapefruit and a touch of lemon.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready and malty base flavor paired with tons of grapefruit hop and a bit of blood orange. There is also a little bit of an herbal hop mixed in there as well, but this pales in comparison to the grapefruit. As the taste advances the grapefruit gets more intense and bitter, with a little bit of citrus lemon joining in as well. Toward the end the maltiness decreases, while some light apricot and peach join in, and with a bit of more orange and a hint of grain, one is left with a rather bitter grapefruit heavy taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and creaminess with a higher carbonation level. For the bitter grapefruit the higher carbonation is nice, although a slightly thinner body may have been better for the big bitterness. Overall, OK.
Overall – A very grapefruit heavy brew. Sorta grows on ya over time.
