Poured from a 12 fl. oz. bottle into a pint glass.
Aroma-I smell yeast and malt, not bad.
Appearance- The beer is brown in color and has an off-white colored head.
Taste- Has a nice malt flavor
Palate- This is a medium bodied brew with moderate carbonation
Overall- this is the third Waterfront beer I have had. all three are different styles but each falls into the moderate category.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with an expiration date of August 2014. Sampled on May 22, 2014.
It pours medium brown with a persistent cream colored head that leaves a good amount of lacing.
The unmistakable Shipyard Ringwood yeast characteristics are noticeable in the aroma right off. Then there are some sweet malty and nutty notes.
The body is about medium but it has a smooth texture.
The malts and nutty notes are big in the flavor and it has a dry, slightly bitter ending. It is drinkable.

A - Twist top poured into a pint glass, light brown body with amber highlights and a slightly off white 1.5 finger head. Actually had some legs for 6%, minimal lacing and head retention though.
S - Very English smelling, notes of toffee, caramel and a very buttery diacetyl character, as expected from this brewer.
t - Taste is a light biscuity malt forward and a few hints of grassy hops, fleeting sweet notes of toffee and molasses, burnt sugar. Finishes with a nice hop bitterness surprisingly, and spicy yeast bouquet. Diacetyl prevalent throughout lending a very British buttery character, but the bittering hops are very welcoming and actually make this rather enjoyable.
M - On par for the style, nicely carbonated and easy drinking.
O - Similar to other Shipyard ales brewed in their open fermenters with Ringwood yeast. It certainly carries the house flavor, this flavor sits somewhere between Shipyard's export and their brewer's brown. Since it was winter ale, I was thinking it would be closer to prelude but no dice. However, there is a good amount of bittering hops that really provide a level of enjoyment. I bought this out of curiosity having almost all but given up on shipyard. This was not too bad, and will I try their other offerings under this brand.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: Brown with a thin off white head, no lacing on the glass.
Smell: Faint smell of alcohol and malts.
Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth medium bodied. Taste of malts, some nutty qualities as well.
Overall: This brew was ok. Nothing really special, I just figured I would pick this new one up after seeing it in my local market.
