This was an offering from a 12 oz bottle. Probably the best Tremont I've had.

A: Bright gold in color and very clear. Nice white head that doesn't seem to stick to the glass, but it does last a while.

S: I detect a slight buttery and grainy scent that mixes with grassy hop nose. Reminds me of lying in a field of grass before it gets cut to make hay.

Light bodied beer with a very smooth taste. Bitter grassy hops are the main act for this beer. There is a little lemony/citrus aspect to it and rounded off by a smooth buttery flavor. Towards the end it seems like the grain comes into play to finish the beer off with a drying affect. Good carbonation that keeps your mouth entertained.

I wouldn't so much drink this beer in order to relax after a hard summer day, but more of a night cap to a nice BBQ. Definitely more of a treat then reward due to it's complexity.

Out of a bottle this beer was a bronze/gold color with a thin layer of off white bubbles for head. The retention was decent and the lacing weak. The aroma was of sweet malts (a crystal and caramel combo?) with a pleasant floral hop background. The flavors were a little more dry than the aroma and grain oriented with a fair amount of bread and biscuit. The mouthfeel was a bit rough, the body medium and the carbonation a touch too high.

Pours a two finger white head that fades quickly leaving traces of lace. Crystal clear gold/amber color. Light carbonation and light bodied. No distinguishable nose. Flavor is weak just hints of caramel and hops, good lawn mower beer. $1.50 for a 12oz bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, VT.

From a 12 fl. oz. bottle marked Independence Day Summer Ale, so I am not sure if this is a different brew than the one shown here. Sampled on July 3, 2009. The color is a cloudy, pale yellow with about a quarter inch of off-white head that stays on top for the tasting. A good amount of upward carbonation. The aroma is of sweet malts and dried hops. The taste is also on the malty side with a kind of toffee or caramel background. Maybe even honey, although it is not a honey lager. I found it to be quite smooth and refreshing.

The beer I had used a different label, so not sure if it's the same thing or not, but this copper beer was solid. It had an average head with a slight malt taste to it.

Has a balance of hops and bitter, with a slight sweet aftertaste to it, though I'm not sure what it is. Slightly above average.

I see that this has been re-named as Independence Day Summer Ale. I'm not sure if they're the same beer or not though.

Pours a copper color with a very thin head into my pint glass. Seems normal here.

Aroma is sweet with biscuit malt and very light hop bitterness in the nose.

Taste is sweet and full of biscuit malt and light hop bitterness upfront. A bit too sweet for the style. Bready and not enough hops as well.

Mouthfeel is full of lingering sweetness and limited hops. Not much else.

Again, hopefully this is the correct classification. If it is, then this is quite an underwhelming example of the style.

My local Hannaford's started carrying these this summer. Enjoyed the IPA, not so much this one. A 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. The beer was gold, with a medium-sixed white head and a tiny bit of lacing. A mostly floral aroma. Piney hops taste that dsappeared quickly, leaving not much else. A good beer if you're thirsty.

Poured a medium copper hue with a one and a half finger foamy white head. There was good retention and little to no lacing.

The smell featured a grainy malt, some caramel and a grassy hop.

The taste was well balanced and consisted of a light clean malt with a lively hop. Light biscuity finish and a corn like sweetness.

The mouthfeel was of average fullness for the style but lacked the typical carbonation.

Overall a simple tasty ale. Easy enough to drink.

Poured a deep gold with a fluffy meringue head that dropped slowly. Aroma is very understated, clean and crisp, with a hint of orange. Taste is smooth and slighty sweet, goes down easy, a great brew for a hot day.

A reasonably priced alternative to macro.

The carbonation is obviously huge, with big, fat, accending bubbles in a bright orange-tinted gold color with a 2" off-white bubbly head, dissipates really fast. It remains bubbly, with it's over-size bubbles but the head and all evidence of a head are totally gone. Nothing.

Musty, worm-wood yeast packs a punch on the nose! Herbal, spicey but mostly sour and tangy. There's a light pale, wheat scented malt, herbal english hops and a very subtle fruitiness. (subdued at best)

The flavor is VERY musty and sour, if fact it dominated and over-power's anything else. Herbal yeast, musty edge, the combo of flavor's simply do not stay in tune with my palate.

The feel starts off light and crisp but quickly becomes flat and lifeless after a very short time. Not impressed here.

The lable states: "Hoppy refreshing ale" I respectfully disagree with both.

12 oz bottle with freshness date of best enjoyed by September of 05. Should be reasonably fresh. Pours a gold honey color with a small 2 mm cap of uneven foam. Forms a moderate amount of lace on glass when consumed. I see that this is contract brewed by Shipyard which makes me a little apprehensive as I am not a huge fan of Shipyard.

There is some malt and corn like grassinness on the nose with somewhat of a lemony flavor to the beer. Finishes somewhat tart and puckerish. Its okay but for a light Summer beer it should be far smoother and should finish more crisply. Don't go out of your way for this one.

Pours a highly carbonated medium-gold topped with a four finger large-bubbled white head. Leaves bits of lace.
Fruity, spicy crisp aroma, toffee and "sweaty".
Caramel, grainy, lightly toasted malt, the taste is a bit off.
Light bodied, was alright at first, but I didn't like it after awhile, low drinkability for me.

Arrives golden blonde, with a thick white head. The head dies very quickly, but that tends to happen with beers at Cannon's. Scrub your glassware, folks.
Aroma is nice and hoppy, which is boding well. I'm betting there's some wheat malt present, because it smells like it. Slight estery floral aroma.
Flavor is wonderful. Mild hopping, not as present as I expected from the aroma, with a wheaty dryness and a touch of characteristic ale fruitiness. Sweet, but not overly so, kind of like a blond or golden ale. Dry and quenching on the finish, with hops coming through. Light body, medium carbonation, very nice. The best summer beer I've had so far.

Pours a nice golden/amber with an off-white foamy head and lingering sticky lace. A pleasantly mild malt and citrusy hop aroma doesn't last very long. The light to medium herbal malt is lightly sweet. The citrusy hops with a light tea-like quality are fairly abundant for the style. Very drinkable! This is a nice twist of the summer ale style.

Pours a small white head with a golden body. Very citrusy aroma, and very citrusy, hoppy taste. This beer is extremely crisp - so crisp, it gave me heartburn. All in all probably the best summer ale in the Greater Boston area, if not Massachusetts. I'll drink this one for the whole summer.

Crystalline golden color with a thick foamy head. Quite hoppy with hints of grass on the nose. A tad bit of sweetness along with the hop. There was a sour lemon-ish taste on the finish. Smooth and crisp.
