these guys are awesome! its so great to see some of their more esoteric beers hitting denver, even if it is incredibly limited. i hope they keep coming out, i really love what they do. this is a funky low alcohol saison brewed with plums, and its as well done as all the dunham stuff, their yeast game is just on point for my personal tastes. this has a pink cloudy look about it, almost pepto bismol colored, kind of thick light that too, especially for its low alcohol, and a nice contrasting pure white head. it smells excellent, tart like the skins of the plums and sweet like their flesh, but still with an obvious malt element, wheat and a little rich, not too fruity to appreciate this part, and then the nice funk on the back end, red winey and bretty and unique, with a belgian essence as well. the flavor is all of that, but the plum aspect is pretty light to me, just a bit of the tang up front and then the delicate sweetness all the way though. i think i wanted a little more plum flavor here, but i like that the rest of the beer is so expressive with the wheat malt and the yeast that i dont ever really miss it. mild acidity here at the end, some heavy kind of woodiness, well established brett and a waft of white grape, clementine, and canned pears. delicious beer overall, nice body for its modest abv, and very mature. i cant get enough of these guys right now!
