Canned: Aug-28-2019 (Consumed Nov-7)
A:
Pours a clear ruddy amber with a billowing tan head that leaves rings of lacing. (4.25)
S:
Rye-like earthiness, faint red fruits, toast, lightly caramelized malt. (4)
T:
Similar to nose. Evenly balanced between hearty bread and dirty hop bitterness. (4)
M:
Way over carbonated. Thinnish body with tingly rather than fluffy feel and a light malty-sweet aftertaste. (3)
O:
Decent beer.
It looks, smells and tastes about par for the style. It could be a touch paler for my tastes but is a good example of a bitter. Maybe a little bit too caramely but it doesn't really clash. There is a nice light yeast character that adds some complexity but is otherwise a little too flat to be great in my mind. Speaking of flat. It is way over carbonated. I don't know if this was intentional to try and give it some fluffiness or what but in addition to clashing with the style, it makes it a little too crisp and prickly. All told, a good beer that could easily be tweaked into being a very good beer. (3.5)

On tap at Le Projet. Clear amber body. Smells of brown bread. Tastes has some hop presence up front, then bready malt, and finishes with some light hop bitterness. Light body. Medium carbonation. Tastes fine, but maybe lacks the texture I'm looking for in an ESB.
