750 ml capped and corked green bottle poured in a tulip.
22 degrees P, 30 IBUs, 80 AA, 16 degrees L, no date.

A - Ménage À Frog pours clear golden with a quickly disappearing, soapy white head that leaves tiny dots of lace on the glass. Cause for alarm? The cork was wet and moldy when the wax-sealed cap was opened. A bit unappetizing.

S - A hint of Brett yeast on the nose gives off a touch of horse-blanket. I'm not sure if it's fermented with wild yeast, but it definitely smells like it. Saaz hops come out pretty strong with floral spice and are backed up by minimal Belgian yeast hints and a big sugar sweetness.

T - The wild funk that emerges abruptly is no where to be found in flavor though, leaning with full force to lots of candi sugar which boosts alcohol and sweetness to an almost cloying level. Chardonnay grape skin and white pepper tickle the back of the tongue on the finish.

M - Medium-bodied, the crisp carbonation tries it's best to cut through this beer's sickly sweet sugar level but doesn't do a great job. Alcohol dryness on the finish helps though.

O - The initial bold sweetness that lingers throughout the beer is a bit overwhelming, especially for the delicate Belgian yeast characteristics which aren't anywhere near as loud as they should be.

This poured out as a golden yellow color with a bit of haziness to it. The head was foamy and white. The smell of the beer gave off some Belgian bready yeast aromas along with some light spices and banana. The taste of the beer was decent, it had some grainy sweetness up front, as it settled the spices came through and finished dry. The mouthfeel was a little on the light side to me, it could have used a little more body I think. Overall this beer was decent but it's not really worth the price tag in my opinion. Very cool looking bottle though nevertheless.

A - Very little white winey. Crystal clear yellow with tons of orange. Very little white soapy head.

S - Very white grape-y, lots of light chamomile. Not very Belgian...

T - Abbey yeast stands out. Saaz Haps are too lights for this style. The pilser malt I could really do without...

M - No heat. Good carbonation. Bad malt.

O - Super sugary. Interesting array of styles. Clean, crisp, refreshing. I could drink a few a day, but it falls far short of the style. I always review to style, wish i could have rated this one higher.... very refreshing, but far from the style.

Growler filled yesterday at Issaquah Brewhouse, poured into a snifter today

Pours clear dark golden with minimal head and little active carbonation. Smell is sweet, cloves, banana, a little yeast.

Taste is sweet with a little sour, a little funk, more of the clove-y flavor and banana.

Mouthfeel is a little still, but overall I still like this beer.

Issaquah Menage A Frog

Ontap into a snifter. Bright gold in color, good clarity, small white fizz dies down to next to nothing. Aroma of peach, belgian yeast, alittle grassy hop. In the taste, nice yeasty fruitiness, alittle peppery spice, estery for sure. On the light side of medium bodied and quite easy to drink. Overall, a decent American Tripel.

Enjoyed this.
A: Rich golden with solid head and retention. Promising, but not exciting.
S: Good fruit richness with some crisp apple notes. Some yeast and a touch o' funk.
T: Good. Fruit and yeast dominates with tart notes and a hint of sweetness.
M: Somehwta rich and slightly thick. Keeps a semblance of freshness by the carbonation, but could use more.
D: Yeah, I could drink a whole bottle of this. Maybe even two over a long night.

Fairly clear golden colour with a moderate sized white head. Ok head retention.

Mildly spicy, herbal aroma. Slightly fruity.

Reasonably tasty. Smooth, creamy malt. Light spice.

Medium-full body with moderate carbonation.

A decent Tripel but it isn't amazing.

I must admit ive been looking forward to trying this brew,it pours a pale semi cloudy straw hue with nice carbonation that leaves behind a two finger head and sporadic lacing everywhere, the aroma is a very sweet mix of orange peels, boiled candy, citrus and rockmelon, the mouthfeel is only just above average which is neither thick nor thin and has tastes of citrus, lemon zest, sugary rock candy and finishes with a light herbal hoppy tinge that is dominated with a sugary belgian yeast taste, overall im glad ive tried it but its definately not the brew id thought it was going to be and probably wouldnt revisit anytime soon.

Golden straw color with a thin, patchy head. Little bit of lacing.
Smell is bready malts, faint fruits, including banana, tangerine, and grapefruit. Very faint though.
Taste is pretty spicey, with some sugar, figs, peach, and light orange. Faint malt backbone. Moderate alcohol presence.
Mouthfeel is slightly crisp, medium body. Slightly sticky on the finish.
Decent drinkability. Alcohol makes its presence fairly well known.
