I was served a pint glass from the tap at Kimo's in Richland, Washington. According to the menu this beer is a "Bartenders concoction, honey red ale & Helleva Hefe blend." So it is a blend of the bar's heffeweizen and red ale, two of the bars better brews.
A: I poured a ruddy, murky amber and orange tinged body with an off-white one finger head that fell slowly and supported a medium density lacing featuring long legs.
S: It smelled of brown sugar, medium roasted malts, woody yeasts and citrusy hops. None of the aromas were bold or dominant...reasonably well balanced.
T: The dominant initial flavors were the lightly toasted sweet malts, white tart fruit (apples), and lemony hops complemented by light sharp spices. The alcohol was well hidden.
M: It was smooth and water with a light to medium body. The carbonation was balanced but there was a tart-sour aftertaste that seem to characterize many of the bars brews.
D: Not a bad session brew...light to medium body, low ABV, and pleasant non-oppressive flavors.
