A challenging beer to evaluate. The closest I can come to describing it is that the flavor hints somehow at fried food. This isnt to suggest that the service has been contaminated, or even that the flavor is undesirable. Its just a useful reference. In fact, the taste is original and intriguing.
I genuinely enjoyed this Grand Amber but it still leaves me scratching my head. The beer is characteristically turbid as many Rattlesnake beers are. And the color is an almost fibrous rusty brown. The smell is mellifluous and fruity.
I just cant fully describe the taste. It doesnt lend itself to easy comparisons and I find myself at something of a loss. I can tell you this much: the beer has a quirky sweetness offset with only nominal bittering. And its funky in the best sense. Ill have to come back and try this one again. Try it yourself and let me know what you think.
