Again, zero carbonation and neither a thread of lace nor a spot of head. Hop-a-long isnt especially red either. Its more of a glassy amber and its gentle, malty sweetness is similarly suggestive of amber ales. A vague, fruity nose makes an early play, but the beer as a whole is not abundantly flavorful. Call it a simple and unassuming amber. Functional but not inspiring.

16oz draft found at this oddly placed brewpub in the pseudo-western town of Winthrop, located just east of the Cascade range
appearance: served to me a light caramel mahogany, with only a small light tan head
smell: faint "dry" hop aromas, decent caramel presence...kind of weak overall
taste: more of what is indicated by the aromas...a hop profile is present but subdued, caramel , fair nutty taste, toasted malt, very peppery (think spice) aftertaste...interesting
mouthfeel: medium body, avg carbonation
drinkability: refreshing at the time after some hiking
