Served in straight pint glass. Poured a semi-hazy yellow with 1/4 inch of white head that quickly dissipated to a ring, which held for a nice while. There was just faint lacing.
The aroma was a basic Saison scent, some grain, some yeast and spice, and a nice base earthiness. There was also a slight fruit scent. On the tongue, all the features of the aroma were magnified and crisper. The grains were earthier, the spice bolder, the yeast a bit funkier. That slight fruit scent showed on the tastebuds as a bit of pear.
The body was spot-on for a Saison, crisp, full and smooth, without any heaviness. Drinkability was very good, I could easily drink several of these in a row. Overall, a nice take on the style, worth trying if you see it.
