I review this as a warning to anyone who might chance on this at Special Brews or some other place this might be lurking innocently. It's stupendously awful. I tasted this in my mouth several times but could not bring myself to actually swallow. The smell is reminiscent of cherry cough syrup but more sour.
There is the bitterness that soon goes beyond medicinal. That's the promised walnut taste of the green nuts, an astringency more like chokecherry than any nut you have ever eaten. Then there is the bacterial sourness, though a hint of sugar remains from somewhere. My mouth feels like it's been scoured with something burnt. If you've ever gotten a bit of fresh ash on your tongue, like a smoking accident or when the wood-fired bread gets a little too close to the popping log.
