Broke one off of a six-pack into rose glass. A limited release, October-January and a heavy hitter. Canned 12/1/20.
Wow, I can smell it on the pour. It is an burnt orange-amber, SRM 12. A thick, viscous and tight bubble head forms, well retained and active. Carbonation appears high. There is an obvious hazy as well. On the nose, overripe mango and lemon, with woody notes. Moderate upfront bitterness, then ends malty and a bit caramelly. An well-baked, orange scone meets the palate. More pine and lemon in the mouth on the aftertaste. There is an initial pleasant sting of bitterness that mellows quickly into a more savory brew. Slightly sweet and a bit tangy. The mouthfeel is coating and somewhat dry. Surprisingly low alcohol detection with higher carbonation.
To me, Mosaic Hops often add a gradient to the flavor notes within, as is what happened here. Classic AIPA zest and pine, but heavier on the bread, perhaps due to the high ABV. I would drink this again, but not be running back to it anytime soon.

355ml can - I wonder why this isn't classified as a DIPA? I know they cite this otherwise on the label, but look at the ABV.
This beer pours a slightly hazy, medium copper amber colour, with a teeming tower of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly off-white head, which leaves some tacky snow rime lace around the glass as it lazily sinks out of sight.
It smells of gritty and grainy caramel malt, dank pine resin, some muddled tropical fruitiness, and more leafy, weedy, and musky floral hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy caramel malt, domestic orange and red grapefruit rind, a further mango and guava exotic fruity essence, some damp minerality, and an additional herbal, weedy, and piney green hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly benign in its milquetoast frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and generally smooth, as the Mosaic varietal does well to keep its hands inside the windows at all times. It finishes off-dry, the malt barely keeping the lingering hops at bay.
Overall - this is a pleasant enough showcase of the titular hop, exhibiting its piney and frooty tendencies. Crisp, and easy to throw back, especially considering the superbly integrated extra 3 points of the ol' wowee sauce. Worth checking out, IMHO.
