Served in bubble pint glass. Poured a dark brown/light mahogany color with just a thin cap of light tan head that had low retention and lacing.
The oak was dominant on the nose, with the malty sweetness providing a solid base, with a hint of yeasty spice in the background. The flavors were better balanced, the oak wasn't as bold as in the aroma, and the base malts giving a nice even flavor. As I got near the end of the pint, the oak started to show through a bit more strongly.
The body was very nice, full and tongue coating with being heavy or sticky. Drinkability was good at first, but I got a bit tired of the oak by the end, so I docked it a half-point.
Overall, a solid beer that I hope mellows out a touch, or next year that the brewery doesn't leave on the wood so long.

A: Poured a mahogany color with good carbonation and a small white head
S: Pretty faint, some spice and old oak
T: Sordove murky and subdued. Some spice, molasses, hints of chcolate and not much oak. Pretty subdued and unappealing
M:Flat, like no really good feel or carbonation, spent oak, bad chcolate
D: Not so good
