Cloudy, turib, yellow haze. Bright white head. Smells equal parts fruity hop ipa and belgian yeast esters. Taste stradles the hoppy hefeweizen line. Balanced, easy drinking and delicious.

A: Pours a nice slightly hazy orange with a decent head and lacing.

S: Grassy, citrusy, floral aromas of the hops dominate this one. A bit of sweetness from the malt is in the background.

T: Similar to the aroma, but even better. Piney, grassy, resiny, citrus flavors dominate up front. A bit of that sweetness hovers in the background balancing it out nicely, but still letting the hops dominate. The alcohol is masked very well. The aftertaste is really nice and hoppy.

M: Smooth and velvet-like, good carbonation

D: This is a really good IPA, and I'd highly recommend anyone try it if you're at CBC or any of the bars that routinely have CBC on tap. Very tasty.

On tap at Bukowski's and at the CBC in kendall sq.

A: Pours a cloudy yellow, amber, golden color with a huge frothy white one finger head. Leaves wonderful lace.
S: Aromas of floral and grapefruit hops dominate the nose. You can smell the bitterness on this guy.
T/M: Grapefruit, pine, lemon, pineapple flavors dance together in the mouth. Ever so slight bready malt flavor that kicks in after it goes down. Big bitter mouthfeel that stings the tongue. Wonderful bitter aftertaste. Very very tasty!!! This one mellows out a little as it warms.
D: Definately a drinkable beer. Tried to get a growler of this at the brewery, but it's considered a "special beer" and they only pour house beers. Oh well, but more for everyone else. Get it if you can!

Too bad this one got retired! oh well, it's easily one of my favorite beers I've had in a long time.

14 oz on tap. (6/23/06)
Deep Pale amber in color, fine thin white head dissipated quickly, decent lacing at first. Inviting.

Smells hoppy, fruity with greens and subtle earthy notes.

"No bitter hop"(stated in the commercial discription) it's the truth. Potent Fruity hops, sweet at first then mellows. Loaded with amazing hop effect WITHOUT any of the bitter bite. There are some nice "greens" in the taste too along with a variety of wheaty, earthy notes. IBU's must be pretty high but it never dominates the palate like some hop monsters can.

Savored every drop!

We are really lucky to have CBC. They have a bunch of tasty seasonals, that when you get in and have them when they first go on, well the freshness just takes your breath away. This was on over the summer, and luckily I got some. This one was made with Columbus hops. 6.7% Lincoln Head color, some cloudiness, as it was unfiltered. Aroma was rocking with candied hoppiness and fresh hay. Mouthwateringly good, with enough malt to hold its own next to the burst of citrus in the finish. Will..we could drink this all day!

I really enjoy the IPAs from Cambridge, so I was looking forward to trying this new style. It poured a red/copper, bright, and a little clearer than I expected. It had a nice hop nose, but not overpowering. The taste was a good balance of hop and malt. ItÂ’s definitely and IPA, with abundance of hops, but right at the peak of the flavor the malt comes out nicely. It had a medium body, and a great drinkability.

Aromatic hops in the nose. Nice citric hoppyness, generally dry bready malts, finish is quite bitter and quite hoppy, fresh maltyness and hoppyness, leaves you wanting more after every sip, a very nice little IPA, well made , a simple, but flavourfull IPA, nice(Cask-GBBF 03')

This beer poured a very clear orange/amber body with a small white head.

The nose was actually quite a bit more subdued than I expected. Very soft malts and mellow citrus/floral hops.

The taste was light and easy drinking. Surprising for the 6.3%. Extremely fresh clean smooth caramel malt complimented nicely by a mellow citrus hop. Although present, the hop flavor and bitterness deffinatly were never in you face. Almost as if all the sharp peaks and hop bite had been removed leaving a perfect balance for the fresh malt.

The beer finished bitter but very smooth only lingering for a short period of time.

Overall a very easy drinking beer. Top notch all the way. Fresh, malty, hoppy, a perfect examble of an IPA. It's just not overlly impressive in any one catagory. Just a great all around beer.

This IPA poured a hazy, light amber color with white foam that settled but clung to the inside of the glass and left a little lace. The smell was strong, "chewy" hops. Very hoppy, and pungent. The taste was dominated by a strong hop flavor (cascade?), mostly floral. There was a nice malt balance. The mouthfeel was very hoppy and slightly astringent due to the hops, but overall rather smooth. There was a nice long lingering hop taste. The body was medium and the carbonation feel was medium-low. This was a very nice and enjoyable IPA.
