Enjoyed at the barley wine festival. Reviewed from notes.
A - Poured into a snifter a hazy honey amber hue with a thin head that fades quickly to leave nothing.
S - Aromas of light caramel, faint faint barrel notes. The Utopia is really, really estery and subtle.
T - Taste is similar to the nose. Not a whole lot of barrel characteristics from the utopia. The inherent sweetness from the utopia does not really translate over to this barley wine.
M - Mouthfeel is decently carbonated, alcohol hidden well.
O - Overall this was a just okay. I had high expectations due to the use of Utopia barrel but everything was rather muted.
