According to the bartender, this started as a Maibock but the yeast were over exuberant and ate away all the sugar.
Reddish amber color. Cloudy. Good head that dies to rim bubbles quickly. A cross between lattice and rings for lace.
The smell retains some of bock elements although it is not sweet. I also get the smell of spent grains. Appealing in a rustic way.
Dry and malty with some strong deeper toast flavors. The finish has a touch of bitterness but is still a very dry, almost earthy, malt ending. Moderate body with an elevated carbonation level. Easy to drink.
