Love Buzz, on tap from cask at the source, in a pint shaker glass.
When I ordered, the server let me know that this is a "cask ale", meaning it's served at a warmer temperature, and with less carbonation.
Looks jet black, to very dark brown at the edges. Nice half inch head of light brown, very fine foam, like silk.
Aroma is loaded with coffee, balanced with plenty of chocolate maltiness. Not a lot of roastiness, struck me as more of a coffee porter than coffee stout by the nose.
Flavor is spot on, a nice bit of roastiness, some chocolate, caramel, and loads of strong espresso.
Mouthfeel is perfect for the style, smooth without artificial slickness, nice, fine carbonation, notably bitter coffee finish as opposed to hops bitterness or roast malt bitterness. With good reason it's got Buzz in the name.
Overall this is a real fabulous beer. The server came by later, asked me how the cask beer tasted, I said flat and warm--give me another!!!!
(Not really flat at all, BTW, lovely carbonation perfectly balanced.)

Had at the CBC on tap in a footed cooler glass. Beautiful beer- dark black with hues of chestnut around the edges. Creamy tan head, that holds for quite a while. Smells of coffee nuts with hint sof chocolate malts. Smooth feel, with sightly bitter finish. Tastes like it smells- coffee and chocolate malt with a bit of a hop kick to finish. Great beer to relax with. Cant wait to go back and have more!

On-tap on 2/21/08
This is an all-black, thick and heady stout with a thick, creamy brownish head that dissipates really slow. Nice look.
Chocolate malt with heavy coffee/espresso on the nose, big aroam and a nice under current of spicey hops.
This is a rough and ready stout, mildly sweet, chocolate and cream flavored malt with a very authentic coffee-espresso infusion. Great balance that includes some subtle but effective earthy, zesty hops. One of the finer coffee-ish stouts I've had.
full-bodied, thick and creamy but not too, thick. It's a fine line and this one is right on the edge.
Will Meyers might just be my favorite brewer, totally pushing the envelope and then some!!

I recently had the chance to try this new Coffee Stout (a collaborative effort with the local Equal Exchange Co-op) that appears to have been put on just in time for Valentine's Day.
Pours a pitch black with a thin creamy burnt tan head that shrunk down to a nice ring of retention that left just huge lacing. The aroma is Wowzas! just straight up zippy espresso in the nose. Pretty much just as advertised.
The taste is more of the same. Straight up espresso notes and burnt roasted character. There is just the tiniest amount of caramel sweetnes in the front to help balance things out but for the most part this is one black angry beer with a fantastic coffee bitterness that lingers. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a wonderfully smooth and creamy feel on the palette.
This was actually the first beer I had from our recent first time visit to the CBC and color me impressed. Heavy with burnt coffee bitterness and espresso notes, this is one beer that will get you buzzed in more ways than one!
