Picture a time when craft beer was less about the hype and more about the hops. A time when an I.P.A. was a simple, yet magical brew of pale malt, caramel malt (60* Lovibond, no less), and a hearty splash of classic hops like Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, and maybe a dash of Amarillo. This coppery potion was a symphony of citrus and pine hop flavors, balanced with a sweet malt kiss, and a grand finale of bold bitterness.

Amber and clear. Modest but lasting head which leaves an initial blanket of lace and long streaks thereafter.
Caramel aroma with a bit of dried tobacco.
Smooth body with a slightly elevated carbonation. Caramel flavor on the front end which slides into a predictable hop bitterness. There’s a subtle sweetness to the overall flavor. The finish though, is white pepper resulting in a long bitter aftertaste.
