Brown color and hazy. Nearly no head. No lacing even at the beginning of the tasting.
When initially served, I could smell this beer from 2 feet away. Brown sugar and molasses nose. No notable hop nor any alcohol despite the 12.25% abv.
Malt heavy as it should be with plenty of interment malt sugar lingering throughout the tasting. Rich, rich body with very low carbonation. Although undetectable, I believe there’s enough hop to prevent the beer from becoming cloy. Here, the alcohol warms the throat and lingers through the aftertaste. A near perfect Barley Wine, taste wise.
