Appearance: orange in color with a short head that lingers around a while. There was some moderate lace left on the glass.

Smell: nice pepper and citrus aroma here.

Taste: fruity malt profile with loads of yeast spiciness, lemon zest, green apples, and a bit of a tart citrus tone arriving late. Bitterness is nicely balancing.A lcohol is noticeable but not impeding the flavors.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Crisp to start, smoother and dry late.

Overall: an enjoyable slow sipping beer.

On tap at the source. Pours a slightly hazy deep amber with a decent white head that dissipates a bit to quickly. Smells of lemon and orange zest, slightly malty with sweet toffee and bready malts. Lots of earthy peppery yeast flavors as if one of the yeast strains is Belgian in nature. Taste follows the aroma quite well but drinks more like a Belgian strong than an American. Medium body and carb level with a sweet slick mouthfeel. Nice beer, glad I got to try it but probably wouldn’t seek it out again.

Served in a tulip glass at Cambridge Brewing Company.

Mass Appeal pours an opaque, slightly dark orange. The beer comes right up to the edge of the glass, leaving no room for head formation. I attribute that to the bartender's pour though. The nose is an absolute juicy citrus bomb, with lime especially jumping out. There's also some white wine fruitiness appreciable. The flavor profile starts out very similarly, with gobs oof lemon-lime citrus. There's a bit more of a tropical edge to the fruitiness here, the Citra hops making some noise alongside the Nelson Sauvin. There's also a pepper /clove phenolic note present for the close. The body has a little bit of firmness to it from the wheat malt, and while the carbonation's not necessarily "in your face", it's definitely active. Mass Appeal is a good brew, bursting with flavor and very drinkable for being 9%.
