Cask at The Tavern in Framingham for the Jack's Abby Marathon charity event.
Nice creamy head, fluffy, just covers the glass, murky molasses brown color no light coming through though.
Nose brings a nice smoke, a light appley like smoke, a light creamy dark porter and hint of cocoa, nice caramel, light toffee, Smokey bacon or brisket.
Taste starts with light smoke, a smoldering log and charred apple wood, light smoked brisket like, light briney smoke with some bitterness, little earthy slight piney bitter hops, some light caramel amber malts, slight creamy porter like lighter malts. Finish has more lingering spicy earthy hops, light syrupy sticky malt finish too, some lingering briney wood smoke.
Mouth is med bodied nice and creamy, decent carb.
Overall pretty good, a lot of smoke but not overwhelming, decent hops to go with the smoke, nice overall smoke profile, decent malts, nice creaminess, not overbearing, enjoyable.
