2014- Rich amber body with huge fluffy head, light hoppy aroma. Hops dominate the taste, although some nice malt backbone is evident also. Dry mouthfeel and finish. Tasty (3.8). 2015 - knocked 1 off on appearance, slightly metallic finish (3.5)

Interesting flavor, almost has a sour champagne bitterness at back of mouth. Really different and delicious. Bevmo, Oakland, CA February 2016

Poured from a large format bottle into a chalice.
Another seasonal Sierra, I'm game.
A: amber with a lingering off-white head. Carbonation through the body. Bottle has a solid design. S: piney, slightly salty, western hops, tiny bit of citrus. T: like a red ale with some nice hop character sprinkled in. Tasty, and woodsy. It is a deceptively heavy beer. F: nice notes of bitter, sappy hops at the forefront, this is balanced with a malt undertone. O: I enjoyed this seasonal cold with some terrific ramen noodles. Good if you can find it.

On-tap 1/18/2015 at Pour Farm, in New Bedford, MA, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a light gold color with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma is faint but contains floral hops, citrus and light caramelized malts.
T: The taste starts out with a hearty but not too heavy malt character that is quickly followed by a strong hops bitterness and a good amount of citrus. There’s a good balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy and slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.
O: Tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a solid IPA to drink for a long time.

I've come to expect great things from Sierra Nevada Brewing and this one lives up to my expectations. Full bodied, good malt, amber colored and nicely hopped. This is a classic example of a Wet hop ale, made with hops straight from the field. Not too citrusy, and no grapefruit flavors which my wife likes, but I don't care for in a beer. Just a good mouthful of big hoppy brew.
