In honor of an epic New England storm, a combination of a blizzard and a hurricane--a blizzicane--that dumped several feet of snow and shut the coast for days, we bring you Blizzicane Bock, a dopplebock that's rich, thick and sweet with caramel and toffee flavor conceived in the hoary eye of that storm.

Poured a brown body with copper tints with two finger head that left lace ring down glass. Aroma first hits me with some clove and yeast, a bit of hops, and just hints of caramel/toffee malts. Medium-bodied beer that is smooth thanks to the yeast, has a banana and possible dark fruit taste, hints of spice, especially on finish and there is a slightly sugary sweetness (caramel/toffee/?) in this beer that gives it a sweet edge on finish.

I enjoyed this on draft served in a glass
the color is dark brown with good clarity and thick beige head with fine bead. The aroma is dark toast with some caramel sweetness and dried fruit aroma. The feel is very good with moderately full body and malt is moderately sweet with medium carbonation with mild bitterness in the back and semi-sweet finish.
The taste is very good with a nice amount of malt flavor with a slight dark caramel flavor and mild toasted quality with a slight herbal and spicy hop compliment with low alcohol in the taste and toffee-like smoothness mid palate with a more dry than sweet finish. Overall I really enjoyed this bock very easy to quaff yet plenty of malt complexity and has a nice balance considering it is not overly sweet

A: crystal clear; medium brown in color; 1 finger light khaki head that receded slowly to a wispy cap; sheets of lacing;
S: dark fruit; toast; a little chocolate;
T: dark fruit up front; a little chocolate comes in at the middle; finish is dark fruit again; virtually no bitterness;
M: medium to full bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish; ABV is very well hidden;
O: as always from Sierra Nevada, a great representation of the style;

On tap at Slater's 50/50 on 02/18/16.
Dark golden brown. Khaki head. Toffee and vague nut aromas. Caramel, toffee and nuts with a subtle bitter hop finish. Good stuff.

It pours a clear dark brown but when held up to the light, it looks blood red. Smell off white head of foam.
Nose consists of caramel malt, toffee, some nutty notes.
The taste is sweeter than the smell but in a balanced way. Caramel, toffee, some nutty notes with a kind of fruity sweetness in the finish and aftertaste. Delightful.
Medium describes the body and carbonation.
Excellent Doppelbock.
