On tap at GABS festival in Melbourne, May 2014.
Pours a brownish amber colour, clear with dense, creamy beige head that looks almost nitroed. Gorgeous lace. Looks a treat.
Smells chocolatey at first but then loads of nice west coast American hops come through. Citrus and tangy with a slight grassy edge. Notes of crystal malt on there as well. Pleasant.
Tastes slightly less dark, more caramel malt with a touch of crystal grain. US hops aplenty on the mid-palate then abruptly stop flourishing late, but it's not a bad thing as it doesn't allow for too much astringency. Touch of cinnamon on there, lots of citrus. Pleasant drop.
Slight tingle from carbonation, decent with a slight kiss of alcohol warmth.
Nice American brown ale. Exactly as I like my brown ales.
