Review of the 2014 version of this beer.
Pours an amber color, good clarity and 3/5" white head. WTH man, if this is a single hop beer, perhaps find a lighter malt bill so you can actually showcase the hops moreso than a malt system that is likely to cover up the hops to a greater degree. I mean don't get me wrong, Sierra Nevada makes pretty beers and this is pretty like SNPA is pretty, but I digress. The beer looks good, but also looks malty. Aroma of mostly bittering hops and caramel like crystal malt tones. Frankly this is pretty similar to SNPA thus far.
Taste is caramel and pine like notes. I've always thought that Idaho 7's commercial/agricultural tug job talking about it dripping in tropical and stone fruit notes was not supported by my reality. Been more like Centennial than anything else. And it tastes much the same here. Good, but not what they say. Mouth feel, sorry, while I love SNPA, it just isn't the same having that malt bill here for a single hop beer. Consumed early 2015.

More past the bottled date that I'm normally comfortable with but I decided to give it a try anyways. Can't beat a $5 bomber. Surprised how flavorful it was. Tons of orange and dried apricots. Hints of floral as well. Nice sticky mouthfeel. Super drinkable. Would have loved to try fresh.

A really nice and refreshing ipa. Different than most ipa's in the flavors. Isn't really tropical, citrusy or even malty . . . kinda reminds me of Alpine's Duet and Victory's Hop Ranch. Overall, not much impressed but still another nice ipa from Sierra Nevada.
