This is a re-imagined version of the original Sierra Nevada beer. Brewed to commission our first brewery, and to kick start every brewhouse after, this stout has the perfect balance of roasted malt character and citrusy hop flavor.

On tap at the brewery's gastropub at their NC brewery.
Appearance. Nearly black and opaque with a beige head that has excellent retention.
This is a bold, moderately smokey stout well suited to those who appreciate dark roasted grains.

Enjoyed a pint with dinner ahead of a Steely Dan cover band show at the Mills River High Gravity room on 12-7-23 for $7.
This had notes of roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate. It was definitely tasty but was way too thin...maybe some oats to thicken this up?

Poured from a Crowler into a Sierra Nevada Tulip Pint Glass
SN Stout has always been one of my favorite examples of the style, so when I saw this on tap at the brewery I was excited to try it. I had a pint at the brewery and purchased a crowler to bring home.
pours very nearly black with ruby highlights, and a small tan head that slowly recedes leaving behind quite a bit of sticky lacing
lots of dark chocolate with hints of roasted malts and citrusy hops. Maybe just a slight hint of coffee
The taste is very similar to the aroma; lots of dark chocolate, roasted malts, some coffee, and a nice kick of citrusy hops. The flavor gets deeper and more complex as the beer warms.
Medium bodied, and moderately carbonated.
Overall this is a great beer. Really makes me miss seeing SN Stout on the shelves.
