Crowler from Mills River. 10.4% 2018 edition.
Harry Potter & the Cursed Child plastic pint glass. Really needed this...
Black on brown body. Chocolate brown on tan head, cascading suds. Legs!
Smells of really mellow whiskey & wafer cookies.
A dance of whiskey & chocolate. Faintly bitter & not bock-sweet enough. Labels... Such a smooth lager, such a small can. Burnt caramel, almond, slight smoke, undeniably easy.
Only lightly carbonated, but with a silky feel. Not as dense as I would have expected.
I hate sweet things, I also hate bitter. I’m generally a terribly difficult person to get along with. This can however, despite it’s stiff, metallic exterior, is quite easy to get along with.

Draft served at SN Mills River, NC in a tulip glass at fridge temp. The beer is very dark brown with chocolate colored head. The head recedes to a pencil thin ring and leaves no lacing. The aroma is mild bourbon and malt. The taste is mild, dark malt and then oak, vanilla and bourbon. The mouthfeel is closer to thin than medium, adequately carbonated and mostly dry in the finish. Overall, good. A straight up bock night have been better. The barrel really pushes the bock out of the way.

On tap on New Year's Eve in the NC Sierra Nevada Taproom.
Clear red-brown with a very good head that leaves a coat of lacing with each tilt of the glass.
Aroma: mild whisky with sweet toffee and baked bread.
Flavor: lightly sweet upfront with alcohol esters and plenty of whisky and barrel flavor. The barrel aging is, however, not overdone.
Feel Medium body and medium-light carbonation. Smooth and warming.
